Also I'm running an AXIM x51v so resolution really isn't a problem as it runs 480x640 which is hopefully enought to run this, does anyone know if the flash player used on this site is even WM5 compatable with the flash 7 installed?
im running a ACER N50 with minimo and im getting VERY close to getting vibe running, last night (well i say night, was 2am) i got as far as seeing my music directory, just trying to get things to play now....
Will update if i get it working

Opera Mobile shows me my music directory but no player I wondering if this is a problem with flash player or java compatability any ideas?
I don't think that the flash player is capable of streaming music on a portable machine. That's why I haven't looked much further into it. Could any of you guys check out for example any other sites that stream music using flash? maybe any of the band pages on myspace.com or tell me if it worked or not..

The only reason it cant stream is because Flash saves the file to memory, if a file is 5 mb and the cache size for mobiles is 1 mb it will return not enough memory and wont play. If Vibe coudl actually Stream liek Slimserver and use the web to Dj then it might jsut work.

but the player doesn't even seem to load, do you have any suggestions Amish?
Macromedia Flash can only be used to stream the way Vibe Streamer does it now. Oh well, it _can_ stream differently but only towards a Macromedia Streaming Server, so it doesn't really make any difference..
The only option I see for accessing a vibe server from a mobile is to create a Java application/mp3 player that speaks/streams using the Http protocol.
if you have a pda running 2003 or CE, try downloading Opera for it, ive got the songs to appear in the queue/playlists, just trying to get them to play now.

ninjapanser how well did the original vibe streamer skin work otherwise than the flash application that plays the songs? can you connect to your server and browse through the songs?

Sorry for dropping off for so long. (WORK)
anyways I havn't tried any skins except the one that comes stock with the current version of vibe streamer. I am going to try and mess with some other options later today. I will get back to you with my results
To further answer your question. the embeded player does not load with flashlite and I am unable to browse the song list. This is all done with PIE and flashlite I havn't played with alternative browsers yet since MIMO and Opera do not have a good version to work with the motorola q since it falls into the smartphone category

All that should need to be done is taking the standard skin fla and republishing it with flashlite 2.1 There may still be the issues of the javascript but that can be worked out between browsers.

There is some software out there built for Treo's called Mercora [url25oe0qhz]http://search.mercora.com/v6/_front/web.jsp[/url25oe0qhz]. The problem is that it stores the library on the phone and uses a lot of memory - therefore large playlists are not possible. It may give you some insight as to how you can stream music to mobile devices.

Has anyone been able to make any progress on this? I havn't really used Vibestreamer in about a year (I started working from home, so I din't really need it anymore). If I could get this working from my Q I would be psyched!
