Hope this doesnt come across as advertising..

If, like me, you have vibe running on a different pc, but would like to see who has logged on, and all the other stats, then download a free program called samurize, which will display (amongst a billion other things) remote txt files

Picture says it all really

cool man... thanks for the tip.

I tried messing with samurize one time, and it was tooo crazy for me... there was too much stuff. I run avedesk and konfabusellout, which do all i need.

What do you use samurize for? Is it good enough that I should put in more time?

Thanks,
Matt

Nice one! This is a very nice solution for monitoring Vibe Streamer. In the upcoming version of the vibe script language a LogManager class exists which will allow access to the logfiles and gives the possibility of creating a monitoring skin for remote use.

Foreward This is not an AD, I just use these tools and find them useful. They are, for the most part, open source as well.

If you are interested in some more fun server tools, TightVNC offers a free remote desktop server and viewer (which also allows for access by http through its provided Java applet viewer). Also, CYGWIN is a linux environment for Windows based machines. You can run so many add-ons through it like OpenSSH and be able to get a secure shell login command terminal for your server wherever you are (using a SSH client such as PuTTY whish is also free). Here are some sites

http//www.tightvnc.org
http//cygwin.com/
http//www.putty.nl/download.html

P.S. This all may be pretty elementary but I figured it could be useful to some people.

By far the fastest way to remote to a windows PC is to use Remote Desktop. I use it at Uni and it's instant.
