okay... first things first... for those that dnt knw about helium... it's quite a cool music manager and is great for managing huge music collections... (details / screenshots - [url1pmd74rd]http://helium-music-manager.com/helium_music_manager.php[/url1pmd74rd]) ...
i came across this forum where they're doing some neat stuff to create a front end for helium that can be accessed via firefox/IE... so... once uv created the database for ur music... u can see it online and stuff whenever u want and its pretty chic
( [url1pmd74rd]http://www.phpbb-mib.com/musicmanager/[/url1pmd74rd] ) ...
so... i was wondering whether it'll be possible to integrate this front end thru the vibestreamer server ... ? whether it can be run as a side service or whether it could be implemented...
the problem with the system that's existing is that u need a server like wamp or xmmp to access the database(it's a mysql database) ... and the wamp server ends up taking like a ton of RAM when its enabled( .. 40-50MB ..) .. so.. im just wondering.. is there anyway to use vibestreamer to access the mysql database?

I am working on a webpage for a non-profit grief support network. They are trying to record meetings, then make the files available to stream. They also want user security so that not the average joe can download and redistribute it.

Vibe Streamer is great, but it uses XML to store user information. Will there be any plan to utilize a mysql user authentication?

There are no plans for this, the next version of vibe streamer still uses xml for all datastorage, so most likely no mysql integration for a while. If any external support would be enabled in the future I'd say LDAP is most likely.
