A solution for downloading files.

Just found a neat server that works like Vibe but for file sharing. It's called HFS for HTTP File Server. The site is http//www.rejetto.com/hfs/

It can be configured to allow uploads as well.

It's Open Source, written in Delphi and is as easy to use as Vibe. The Gui is a little different but not too bad.

Anyway, maybe this will solve the issue of giving Vibe the download function that could be controversial when it comes to copyright laws.

Oh one other thing, it is a standalone EXE. No installation required. YAY!!!

Have Fun!

Yes but maybe there's a way to "skin" a link button to link to the HFS page in Vibe. That would be as good as having the DL functionality in Vibe and it would avoid any "imperial entanglements".

yeah I agree. I'm running hfs as a service now too.....which is something I tried with vibe. although, i do believe the .exe wasn't compiled to support that sort of thing, as far as I know. a windows service feature would be nice with vibe as well.

I'm not sure if that was mentioned?

It's been requested many times and it's already possible to configure Vibe Streamer as a service.
