Bandwidth Usage

Hi, i just got Vibe Streamer and its great, but i had one tiny worry...when somoene is streaming your songs and listening to them, are they using your bandwidth? I wanted to know this because i was skeptical at how fast my 1.5 GB music collection was indexed so fast, and also the fact that you are running the server from your own computer. Any additional information would also be helpful.

Well ofcourse your bandwidth is used. By default vibe streamer tries to stream the song as fast as possible to the client (using up whatever bandwidth you can deliver/your client can download).. just as any ftp/p2p server would do. But can _can_ limit this... just check your user settings.

Yes, the server uses [b1uvjex9w]your[/b1uvjex9w] upstream bandwidth, while users logged into and listening to your music use [b1uvjex9w]their[/b1uvjex9w] downstream bandwidth.
