Add and index a web server or ftp server for storage

I have Vibe Streamer setup to index hard drives and network storage as needed and that works out great.
What I'd like to do is use it so it indexes my music off of my hosting company ([url8n5ed95t]http://www.ithost.ca[/url8n5ed95t]) since I don't have the best upload and when multiple users are on, it tends to buffer a lot.

I have the correct web address setup for this and also ftp account made, but I can't seem to get it going. (I've tried ftp//userpassword@ithost.ca) and adding the http// URL but it won't index anything. I've also tried anonymous ftp access with no luck.

I would like to know if there's a way that Vibe Streamer supports this and perhaps I'm just not doing it properly, or if anybody knows of a way to add URLs as a mapped drive or a virtual drive, then I can add the mapped drive to Vibe Streamer.

If it's relevant, I'm using 2003 server.

Thanks for any ideas or comments.

You can do this quite easily with FtpDrive. The consequence however will be that you'll have an additional drive letter (like Z) occupied for direct access to your FTP server. Follow these steps

1) Download[/urluxiutgsy] and install FtpDrive (freeware).
2) Start FtpDrive, choose the preferred drive letter and uncheck both 'Try retreive...' options.
3) Now click on the button 'Edit server list manually', fill in the details of your FTP server and click on 'Add site'.
4) In the 'Advanced' tab, I think only the first 4 options should be checked/enabled.
5) Now you can just add the folder Z\ to Vibe Streamer.

Unlike when using Novell NetDrive, the song [iuxiutgsy]will[/iuxiutgsy] immediately start playing, whereas NetDrive will first download the entire song to a temporary location. This is due to FtpDrive's emulated memory mapping[quote="The FtpDrive author"uxiutgsy]This option allow effectively emulate memory mapped files. It work only onWin'XP and higher. If it is disabled (or you are using Windows 2000) then if application will try to map file to memory - file will be completely downloaded from server.[/quoteuxiutgsy]

I gave my users a way of uploading to the computer hosting vibestreamer. Is there any way to let them upload to my file server? I 'd like to keep the upload tab in my vibe skin instead of them having to go to another page.. any help or at least the answer if this is possible or not would be appreciated!

You already have an Upload tab in your skin? Which skin might that be?
