[b1vsgsfdj]It could be either[/b1vsgsfdj]

[b1vsgsfdj]1.[/b1vsgsfdj] You use your internal IP adress (like 192.168.X.X8081)
[b1vsgsfdj]2.[/b1vsgsfdj] You have not opened the right port in your router or your firewall blocks the port you are using in Vibe Streamer.

In case 1 Check your external ip by clicking here [url1vsgsfdj]http://www.whatsmyip.org/[/url1vsgsfdj]

In case 2 Look up in your router/firewall manual how to open/re-direct a port.

Here is a common Vibe Streamer flow. and the most common problems

Hi folks and welcome to the forums! )

There are a few steps you will need to complete if you want your Vibe Server to be accessible from outside, ie from the internet. It is recommended that you use the default server settings for IP address(All unassigned) and port(8081) under the settings tab unless you really know what you are doing.

This guide assumes you have created at least one user and have setup a directory to share with appropiate user rights.

Off we go!

  1. [*3n77e1t6][b3n77e1t6]OPEN YOUR ROUTER OR FIREWALL[/b3n77e1t6]
To enable streaming from the internet you will need to open port 8081 in your router/firewall and redirect the traffic to the computer where VibeStreamer has been installed. How that is done, well it depends on your firewall/router. http//www.portforward.com[/url3n77e1t6] has lots of information and several very useful tutorials on this.

    [*3n77e1t6][b3n77e1t6]KNOW YOUR IP ADDRESS[/b3n77e1t6]
You need to know your IP address because that's the information your users need in order to connect to your server.
[b3n77e1t6][i3n77e1t6]Please remember[/i3n77e1t6][/b3n77e1t6] that any IP address that begins with 192.168.x.x is internal, thus others cannot use it to logon to your installation of Vibe Streamer. In other words, you will need to know your [b3n77e1t6]public IP address[/b3n77e1t6].
http//www.whatismyip.com is an excellent site that displays your public IP address. Once you know the address, that is the one you should use and spread to your friends, e.g. http//183.223.38.08081 (these numbers are made up - there should be no Vibe server there, sorry! ;))

Congratulations! Your server should now be accessible over the internet!

    [*3n77e1t6][b3n77e1t6](OPTIONAL)[/b3n77e1t6]
Most ISP's hand out dynamic IP addresses, meaning one day your IP is xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx but a week later you might find yourself having xxx.yyy.yyy.zzz, a different address from the week before. Keeping track on the IP address manually is not the easiest thing and it can change at any time. Fortunately there are applications that can do this IP-detection-thingy for you, as well as giving you an alias to remember instead of the numbers that is your IP.

Two of the most popular sites that provide this functionality for free

    Good luck!
